I do not think the Greek achievement can be denied or that praise can
not be given. Too many timely goals meant it was their tournament and
year.

I don’t think anyone expected that going into Euro 2004. But that’s why the Euros are great. Between Greece in ‘04 and Denmark in ‘92, it really feels like any of the 16 teams who qualify can win the tournament.
