Nick, Jogi gave his version of what happened (link below). Seriously, I'm still trying to take in what happened on the touchline. He really made my own brother look almost like, an angel. There could be a possibility that he could be suspended for the Portugal match. We can only wait what UEFA has to say.

I watched the repeat of the match and was almost shaking my head when that incident happened. This has to be the first time for me when watching a football match, two coaches sent off! I had never seen anything like this before. I know matches between Austria and Germany can be emotionally-charged, but not to this extent. *shaking head*

I just realized that the winners of both Portugal vs. Germany and Croatia vs. Turkey meet in the semi-final... we can have another Portugal vs. Turkey.

Oh and Loew should know better than to ALSO get sent off, as he himself said don;t draw unnecessary fouls. I guess he was nervous the officials might listen to Hickersberger (and gift the Austrians a peanlty or two) who must feel really stupid for getting sent off first.

Well Klose & Podolski up front next time. Anyone else notice how Podolski only shoots straight? At least he can shoot Gomez! (To be fair something is up with him, against the Swiss he looked like Germany's most natural striker.)

Luckily Lahm, Lehmann !, and Ballack !! had a great game. Metzelder experience showed, Mertesacker recovered in time, Friedrich set up a good attack (tripped a little but the attacks always came down Podolski's side anyway. Maybe somebody else for Fritz as he looked tired all game. Hitzlsperger probably not a good idea defensively. Neuville should move up the pecking order now, at least he looks threatening! Probably Odonkor on the right if Fritz doesn't get back in shape (Fritz probably got knocked around too much this game, certainly a shadow of himself against Serbia/Poland) At times like this you wonder if Marin had been around how this game and the Croatia one would have come about, he has the skills to change the game no one else on the team has, except the now ubiquitous Ballack potential game winning free-kick. Or if SOMEONE combines with Klose or for that Lahm correctly! All right enough nerve-racking, three days of blissful neutrality until the quarterfinals? Has it been that long already since we BEAT Croatia in 1996?
