I'm really getting in to this. Kuranyi is brazilian born, only moving to Germany in 1997 in a move to Stuttgart. His father is German-Hungarian and his mother is Panamanian (is that how you say/write it). So he also had a difficult choice.

After some research (wiki) I found that only the three you mentioned were born in Poland, well done. However, Neuville was born in Switzerland, but plays for Germany, as his father is German. His mother was Italian and his Grandfather was Belgian, so he really did have a pick, but obviously opted for his Father's nationality

Sky sports make out that more of the Germans are actually Polish, and i didnt realise how young they had moved to Germany. Anyway, I think Germany will do very well and maybe win the comp!

I stand corrected he was born in Germany. I know that he had a chance to play for Poland during the world cup but wanted to play for Germany instead. He is a dual citizen. But even with ballack I think they have little chance at euro 2008. We will see. I think Poland will win that game.

Michael Ballack isn't from Poland. Piotr Trochowski, Lukas Podolski and Miroslav Klose were born in Poland and came to Germany as children. Trochowski when he was five, Podolski when he was two and Klose when he was eight years old. They all grew up in Germany, learned their football in Germany, played for German clubs, have German friends, speak perfect German and have German citizenship. So if you call for better rules on that situation, we can just as well give up on the whole immigration thing and send all those "foreigners" back home where they "belong".

But Joseph.... many of the "German" players were actually born in Poland. I'm sure the Polish will want to win more for that reason, because as tragic as the war was, it was a long time ago, and although it may still be in many of the polish players' minds, I doubt that this will be their motivation
