Austrian football fans may not have much hopes of being the best team at the tournament (if they care), but nobody can argue that they don’t have the biggest and most bestest stamp of all time. The above absurdity is actually a stamp which is being released for the summer for Euro 2008 in honor of their most famous goal against Sweden in 1997 from Andi Herzog.

Somehow technology was able to superpose that video onto the largest stamp evah at 6.5 x 4.7 cm. And it’s not going to be for economy postage either. The stamp will cost 5.45 euros, also making it the most expensive stamp of all times. Great to know the world is putting video in more places. Now where the hell is instant replay?

The actual goal in one piece:

I’m such a geek that I think that’s the coolest thing ever. Digital paper has so many interesting potentials. Not that I’m paying 6 E for a stamp, but unfortunately, I’ve probably paid more for things that were less cool before. If there was a Scotland stamp of Archie Gemmill’s goal in WC 1978, I’d be all over it.
