No Sheps, Ronaldo was just bringing the stamp to the Ref’s attention. If he Ronaldo, just walked to the ref and told him ‘I just got stamped on’, the ref would not have believed him. Although it was an over-reaction by some mile, it was still required, as no officials saw the incident (bring in video replays!!!)

That’s the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever read on a football blog. Are you implying that referees are likely to make a decision based on a player’s reaction, even if they hadn’t seen the supposed stamp? And especially on the reaction of Cristiano Ronaldo?

If the ref didn’t see it, he’s not going to award anything. Fact.

Also, it was a major overreaction. Ronaldo, stop your whinging, get on a plane to Madrid, let your career decompose and United can have lots of fun with £60m in the transfer market.

Dear Chris,

Ronaldo’s reaction wasn’t a delayed one..After the original foul, he just fell to the ground, it was only after his foot got stamped on, that he then showed pain…Sure, it was exaggerated…but it was a reaction to his feet being stepped on, not a reaction to the original foul..so it wasn’t a delayed reaction like what you described.

Clearly, you were on your toilet break during the video replay.

And C.Ron’s foot WAS stepped on but it was a BIT much… I mean when I saw him writhing on the floor, I thought somebody was eating him or something. Everyone has had their foot stepped on… I don’t believe I’ve EVER had that reaction. And I’m a wuss. ^-^
