I would say the save of the tournament so far goes to Turkey’s Volkan Demirel from C-Ron’s free kick. Talk about full stretch.

However, in light of the immediate after effects of EVDS’s save (ie: a goal for his team), perhaps it gets the nod.

Surprising Insight From A Complete Noob Award: Was on a treadmill this morning and nearly fell off when Tommy Smyth said something intelligent that didn’t involve the Scottish National Team or Aberdeen (did you know they’re both playing in the Euros? Me neither). Think it was something along the lines of Domenech needing to inject some creativity from their central midfield. Can’t believe that actually happened.

VdS was great, Sneijder deserves recognition as well.

I agree that many from the Oranje could have been taken but I’d go with Giovanni van Bronckhorst. He was the man for me, knocking one sure goal off the line, then leading the counterattack to set up another whilst adding the 3rd and crippling goal. Great match unless you hail from the peninsula.
