Euro 2008 Jersey Poll Tournament: QF3 – Italy vs Russia

The Euro 2008 Jersey Poll Tournament is well and truly underway. Basically we’re simulating Euro 2008 with the 16 team jerseys, and using your votes to determine the winner.

Today it’s our third quarterfinal, pitting the Group C winning Italian Azzurri shirt against the Group D runner-up Russian shirt. Compare and contrast below and then vote four your favourite.

Form: Puma’s Azzurri with gold trim Italy shirt emerged bloody but victorious from the tightly contested Group of Death with 37% of the vote.

Nike’s Russia home jersey with horizontal stripes saw off the fancied Sweden shirt to take second spot in Group D with 27% of the vote. But it was a long way behind Group winner Spain, as that shirt garnered 46%.

So there you have it. The famous blue of Italy verus the Russia shirt with the flag across the chest. Either would be worthy semi-finalists in my opinion, but only one can go.

Vote for your favourite below:

UPDATE: This poll is now closed. Final result:
Italy 66%
Russia 34%

My issue with the Russia one is that it looks like a white shirt with two stripes. You can’t really see the outline of the white stripe. Voting for Italy (for the first time in my life, football-wise)

Italy is dominating, haha.
I think that this was a mis-matched pair. If they met in the tourny I think the result would be something like this as well…
Russia’s shirt is just too bland. Not that Italy has all sorts going on, but the white is just not very interesting. I also agree that you can’t see the outline of the white stripe so that makes it even worse.

Wait, the subside ad has a TOTTI kit featured? Hello? De Rossi wears the number 10 now.

Really, the remarkable thing about the Italy kit is the font of the player names and numbers. It’s trippy.

I picked Italy too. This really is a mis-match. Oh, and by the way, why is this called QF1, some copy and pasting going on methinks?
