jonkon, it’s pathetic that you force yourself to skulk through every thread I’ve posted in, in order to call me a ’sore loser’.

You’re not only stupid but you’re libellous as well.

Everybody. Stop. The personal stuff, the racist stuff, everything. Keep it to the football. This Turkey game is keeping me busy enough with deleting comments and banning users – I’d appreciate not having to watch two different blogs.

That was amazing, the only problem is who does Turkey have left to play Germany? That and they were running their hearts out for 120 minutes if not most of this tournament.

Ahh what a match!! Another blow to negative soccer. And what character.
@Portugalfan – Portugal has the Ronaldo curse to deal with. It is not easy to have a player like that who is both the most talented player in the world and one of the single most spectacular assholes of the game…

Interesting fact: Outside of Turkey, Germany has the largest Turkish population.

You’ve gone on every Greece forum to talk about how much you hate the team? What is wrong with you? Greece lost to Spain, Russia and Sweden. Everybody. But you don’t see me whining on every spanish, russian or swedish forum. take your losses with class, like we took our victory. i have never seen a greek insult a single portuguese or the team for that matter.

The Turkish fans were the 12th man today, did anyone see them lined up outside the stadium? Honestly, I think it was THEY who caused modric and everyone else to miss, how can you concentrate on taking a penalty with the crowd being that loud? outstanding. and while the turkish player who scored shushing the crowd was absolutely classless, how can the croatian fans make noise after that comeback? I’d be shocked. If i was croatian, I would have shot myself in grief. Also, I don’t see any reason for AJ, PortugalFan and Portugal12 to insult the Greek national team on forums that have nothing to do with Greece or Portugal. This obsession is very, very weird.

You don’t whin about the teams that beat you, but you follow me around and moan in every thread I post in. Which makes you a dumb hypocrite. It’s no secret that I don’t like the Greek NT. Take some criticism like a man. Now quit being a total retard and stick to the topic before you get us both banned.

Both of you. Stop. Any more back-and-forth comments from either of you directed toward the other will be deleted.

You know what is really upsetting? That the United States was not allowed to qualify for Euro. What’s that you say? This competition is only for teams in Europe? Talk about a snub based solely on arbitrary continental divides. Ever heard of Brown v. Board of Education? I thought not.

But actually, that was great to watch as an impartial viewer, at least the least the last two minutes. I was sure Croatia was playing for the shootout in extra time, and in a roundabout, completely wrong way, I was right.

Never really understood the need for inclusion of ethnic slurs in discussing whose team is better. I suppose I don’t have the amount of passion fans from these countries do, but I know that when I get really upset at another country, like Antarctica for stealing all our scientists, I just get drunk and listen to James Blunt. Man she can sing. Oh that’s a man? How strange…

i only responded to your own sourness. anyway, mind your own team and i’ll mind mine. i never insulted any other national team, there are players i like and players i despise that play for every country. and i don’t get upset when teams beat us or outplay us. what, should i expect them to try and lose? anyway, this is over, stick to THESE teams. Its annoying to see people insult Greece in a forum about Turkey and Croatia, especially when it happens on two separate forums. and at least you kept it football related, unlike the racists on the other one.

MOTM = Rustu! From Rusty to…um… I know there’s a cliche in the making there somewhere.

i was talking about PortugalFan in this case, but you’ve done it numerous times elsewhere. And can’t you just drop it already? Rustu would be my man of the match for sentimental reasons, but he did pull a Nikopolidis for the first goal, didn’t he? he must feel blessed to get the chance to make up for that. Then again, Modric was the best player but also screwed up in the penalties. So, though I hate giving it to the losing team, Simunic was absolutely rock solid. he deserves it.

funny how an Aussie can be the best player in a Croatia vs. Turkey match.

Yeah, MOM to Rustu, except when he decided to do a spot-on imitation of Pepe Reina, sending me into PTSD-like flashback mode. That save on Srna’s free kick was one of the better saves I’ve seen this tournament, and definitely the best save in the tournament by a guy wearing a bird’s nest on his head. And he obviously had the decisive save in the shootout. Although I’m convinced Fatih and Slaven went halfsies on a 100G bet for this game.

And now I’m just going to stick around to watch the slightly offensive, slightly juvenile, definitely erotic game of ethnically-charged cyberchess going on between the different posters in this forum.

Django – I wish I could just sit back and be entertained by it. Hilarious stuff in your comments today. It’s helped break the tension around here from everyone’s name-calling.

Appreciate the work on the blog Ian, it’s been nice to read the live blogs and game-recap forums. I’d imagine refereeing the pissing match gets a little old, but great work by you and your staff regardless.

yeah, good work Ian, sorry for giving you guys a hard time, its just hard not to respond to insults when your country is involved. ethnicity is a touchy issue, and you did a good job keeping things civil. sorry again for making your job more difficult at times.

So who’s going to be missing for Turkey in the semi?

Volkan’s out because of a red against the Czechs, when he sent the gentle giant Koller into a barrel roll. Tuncay is out with aggregate yellows as is Arda Turan and Emre Asik. Nihat came off injured after he tried to put that free kick on the roof, so who knows.
