I Love the Smell of Euro 2008 Tickets in the Morning…
That’s right, word from UEFA is that tickets for Euro 2008 are being printed today. There are apparently 1.05 million tickets to run off, which is a whole lot of printing. Let’s hope Michel Platini got some sort of bulk deal on ink cartridges.
The tickets will wing their way to Vienna soon, and UEFA promise that fans will have tickets in their hands two weeks before tournament time. There’s nothing like physically holding your ticket to get you all excited. You can keep it safely in a drawer or maybe pin it to a fridge/wall/whatever (maybe next to your Euro 2008 wall chart?) as a constant reminder of what you’ll soon be doing. Which is why electronic tickets for airlines make life a lot more convenient but a little less exciting.
Some more matchday related info straight from the UEFA horse’s mouth: Euro 2008 ticketholders are entitled to free second class public transport on matchday, and until noon the following day. Sounds sweet (depending on exactly what “second class public transport” involves exactly.)
Also - and this is a great idea - on Euro 2008 days with two matches, supporters can arrive early at the stadium and watch a replay of the day’s earlier game on a big screen.

wow thats realy great news, i can only imagine what the price will be if u wait until trying to scalp them at the stadium

We really need to coordinate our shirtless man posts better. Two on a Monday morning…..eh.

It’s Shirtless Men Monday. Didn’t you know?

I would just like everyone to know that I had nothing to do with this, and that if and when I post a picture later today, it will be of someone fully clothed.
That is all.

I had to smile at your There’s nothing like physically holding your ticket to get you all excited. This is absolutely true for me. In both my recent trips to France, nothing made me anticipate the upcoming trip more than actually, physically receiving my footy tickets from the FFF. There’s just something about a paper ticket.
(Airline tickets, on the other hand? Good riddance.)
