Slaven Bilic Goes Off The Market

slavenbilic_598987.jpgNot that he was ever technically “on” the market. But the news that Sven is being canned at the end of the year got the rumor mills into the requisite fervor and they decided Thaksin was looking to throw some blood money Slaven’s way. We can end that rumor.

Slaven signed a two year extension yesterday, making him Croatia’s coach through at least the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. Great news for an up and coming young, talented team, which can now grow for a few more years with its up and coming young, talented coach. Fitting, eh?

And of course, what with dispatching England and all, Slaven got a nice little payraise and he’ll also enjoy some bonuses should Croatia reach some certain stages. Bonuses for more guitars, perhaps?

Good news for Slaven, good news for Croatia and bad news for the rest of the world which was lining up to sign him to a club deal when his contract was supposed to run up in August. Plus they got to him before the big record companies wanted to send him on a world tour and become a superduper crossover star.

And with that, enjoy some Rawbau.
