Sweden Loses 1-0 to Young Ukraine Side
As the above video shows, we saw the second warm-up loss for a Euro 2008 side today, as Group D challengers Sweden took on Ukraine in their final preparation friendly. And as the video also shows, they not only failed to break down the tough Ukraine defense, but fell 1-0 to a lovely boot from outside the box. The shooter is Serhiy Nazarenko, who plays for Dnipro. This is his fifth international goal, and provides a little bit of revenge for the World Cup quarterfinalists, who have fallen on tough times since. The finished a disappointing fourth in Euro qualifying, behind France, Italy and the Scots, and so I’m sure it felt good to take a Euro scalp five days before the tournament. As for Sweden, they were booed off the pitch by their home fans. Not the best of preparations.
This is nothing compared to the whoopin’ they will get from Spain
