The New Swiss Miss Mister

May 30th, 2008 | By: Chris | 2 Comments »

Alexander took just a bit over a half hour to establish himself in the history books as the all-time leading scorer for the Swiss National Team with 35 in only 58 caps. Going into the game against Lichtenstein (they won 3-0) he was one behind, and he managed a brace with a header in the 24th and solid strike off a long cross in the 31st. At the age of 28, it’s a great accomplishment and you’d have to beleve he’s going to up that total significantly before the time his international career has finished.

Frei is world-class. He’s scored loads of goals for both club and country but I don’t think he gets the recognition he deserves. I’d like to see him play in the Champions League before he gets too old, and I’m not sure Dortmund is the place…

I would see him in a team like Fiorentina.
