Euro 2008

The Official Song of Euro 2008, by Enrique Iglesias

Apparently Shaggy wasn’t good enough, or something, because UEFA has decided to hand over the official song of Swissaustria Euro 2008 to Enrique Iglesias and his tune Can You Hear Me?. Along with being spliced into a nauseating number of promos, Enrique will be at the final in Vienna on June 29th. Plus there will be a football inspired music video, ringtones and probably a whole host of things to get your Enrique + footy fix with. Great day.

Personally, I’m not a fan. But then again, he set the bar so high with Hero he’s going to continue disappointing me for the rest of his career.

This is the worst. Also, I only watched about half of the video and didn’t see Enrique, did he get assimilated into some sort of Borg-esque computer that simply displays the word “Insomniac” or something? Because that would make the song worth it.

Yeah, regardless of how bad or awful the song is (those are the only possible choices), the video is particularly lame. Nothing but the word “insomniac” over and over. Just when we thought UEFA might be getting MORE sane.

“Plus there will be a football inspired music video”

That’s not the music video, it’s just the least homoerotic video I could find on YouTube playing the song. All the rest were slideshows of Enrique doing god knows what. Assuming there will be a less homoerotic official video on the way.

Ah, I see now. Well done to tone down the Enrique.

They should have released “Feel The Rush” instead. It’s way more catchy than “Like A Superstar”.

And Iglesias’ song is just so lame that it makes me angry. I’m tired of all these marketing experts and their pathetic attempts at trying to repeat the success of Ricky Martin’s “Cup Of Life”.

Why they don’t release the tune used in the Euro 2008 adverts?

As a big Enrique fan, even I’ll admit the songs not brilliant! The “video” isn’t – its just a section from his last Insomniac Tour, the word is in the back ground when he’s off stage!! Pretty poor effort!
