April 21st, 2008 | By: Daryl | No Comments »

No offence to UEFA (who I embrace and admire for being basicaly FIFA’s smarter, better looking and more organized brother) but was it even worth it? Read on to discover how much Marco van Basten’s Euro ‘88 volley won by…

55% chose Van Basten’s eye-boggling volley for the Netherlands vs USSR at Euro ‘88. The technique, the angle, everything. Brilliant.

38% voted for Ronnie Whelan’s scissor kick for the Republic of Ireland vs USSR. At Euro ‘88. Were USSR just giving away sublime volleys at Euro ‘88?

And last but not least (although technically last and least with 7% of the vote) is Marc Overmars’ for Netherlands vs Yugoslavia at Euro 2000.
