Alan Hansen recently wrote in the Telegraph that Germany can't match the quality of the English players (except for maybe Ballack and Lahm) but their "winning mentality" compensates for that. Those cliches are here to stay, but no need to overly focus on them because there are enough articles which also give a lot of credit to the team. He's a great technician at free kicks, and I think he gets a fair bit of credit for that. Ronaldo scores by a free-kick, it's a thing of beauty, pure skill 'cause he's the most complete player in the world etc. if M. Ballack does, it's just luck, maybe simple power... Many of you say we have no technically skilled (defensive) players, just take a closer look at P. Lahm or explain why most of Portugal's shots on target had been from 30+ meters.
