Watching The Games From High In Vienna

Looks like Vienna is doing its best to make a couple euros off this whole tournament thing. While you’re sipping on your ultra-pricey adult beverage, you can watch the Euros for just a shade under €6,000. On a ferris wheel.

The famous ferris wheel right next to Ernst Happel Stadium, home of the final, will be available to 10 people per match for the tidy sum of €5900. A sum which includes food (perhaps a few complimentary adult beverages on the house, as expensive as they may be) and a big screen (really, really big) for the “down time”

So it is pretty cool to be able to watch the game from, literally, a seat in the sky, but the problem becomes: it’s a damn ferris wheel. They go up and then they go down. So really, you’d be paying €5900 for roughly half a game and some gourmet food while watching.

Still, a pretty cool experience, and apparently the patrons agree as half the tickets have been sold. If you’re interested, you may want to get on this quick. But if you’re on the way down when the final penalty is taken for the title…
