Top 10 European Championships Goals
Australia’s version of FourFourTwo named their Top 10 European Championships goals of all-time and since they’re not European and thus unbiased (we think), the goals are worthy of a look. Apparently the crew was a big fan of Euro ‘96 in Ingerland. Oh, and three of the ten goals came via the Home Nations. Unbiased…we think.
Any goals in here unworthy, or any others not on the list deserving of a spot?

Five Things We Learned in Swissaustria, June 9th
1. Donadoni is Gonagoni…
…unless there’s a dramatic turnaround in the next two games (Raymond Domenech needs to be careful too.) Gonagoni’s ex-Milan teammate didn’t do him any favours today.
2. Florent Malouda is a wuss
The French winger totally backed out of a 50-50 with Romanian keeper Bogdan Lobonţ. All he had to do ... [read more]
EuroVision: Mon the Tricolours
The Romanian faithful cheer on their boys on the way to their 0-0 draw with France. Notice mixed in with the Romanian flags and scarves the saltire cross of Scotland. Even though the Tartan Army has officially gotten behind Poland, Highland fans will support Marius Niculae and the Romanian side.

The Unlikely Fan and the Group of Death
Made this very nice find on 101 Great Goals recently, and I think it could be Euro 2008’s answer to The Special One. It’s called The Unlikely Fan, a series of short Euro 2008 previews/one man sketches by Brendan Hunt, an American living in the Netherlands and supporting the Oranje.
The pilot episode from when the draw was made is above. ... [read more]

THE BIG PICTURE
For starters, this is just a game in Group C, and all six will be worthy of watching with all three teams ranked in the top dozen in the world by FIFA. The Netherlands show up missing a great ... [read more]

Finances: El Clasico Always Wins
The yearly list of football club annual revenue is out yet again and the gap between the two Spanish behemoths and the rest of the field is growing ever wider. Despite the trophy success of last year, Barcelona has lost the financial Clasico to Real Madrid...yet again (lucky number seven ...
Kei Kamara Dons The Gorilla Suit
This takes down February's best footy related video award easily. Kei Kamara of the Kansas City Wizards dons the gorilla suit for a series of pranks during a set of real or staged interviews. It doesn't really matter - it's all awesome. It is also very likely Cyprion Hedrick wet his pants. ...
Samsunspor Team Bus Meets Train
What do you say to this? Holy @#$%. Incredibly, everyone from Samsunspor - Turkish Super Lig - survived and the team bus is the only thing which netted catastrophic damage. And as evident from the video, no signs/warnings appeared that, ya know, a train was steaming in. Someone's likely to see a change ...
Adriano Gets Quarantined For Fatness
Adriano is both one of the most gifted strikers of his generation and one of the most disappointing, ballooning to Ronaldo's late-career playing weight right smack in the middle of his prime, among other, non-gravitational-field-related issues (drinking, partying, shooting people, etc). Now at Corinthians and fresh off an Achilles injury ...
Excellence In Futility
The set-and-finish own goal is one of extreme rarity, such that it should have its own show on some science channel. To deflect a ball into the net is one thing, but a composed boot, if shanked? That's truly special stuff. The gentleman in question is Ashraf Soliman of Maccabi Umm ...
Kitties Taking Over The World
A pitch invasion took center stage during the first half at Anfield this evening, if only because no one else could. There's something in here about the cat being more productive than Andy Carroll, too. Also, it already has at least three Twitter accounts. Of course. (One of them.) Another cat, a ...
Balotelli Feels The Magic
Beyond anything which Mario may or may not be doing...what an odd sequence to catch during a game, isn't it? Fans get caught doing things quite often, but not players seated in cushy boxes. That said....Mario makes a coke can disappear. I think. Which is pretty nice. Though I imagine the ...
Bayern: The Good Guys (!)(?)
If you've paid any attention to the Bayern Munich news bits over the past years, you'll know that they've got some characters running the show. Thus their public persona isn't exactly seen as the cuddly teddy bear, smiled-at-least-once-in-their-lives types. So to hear that they gave Borussia Dortmund, a direct competitor, ...
